How To Make Rose Shaped Momo Dumplings From Scratch! With Delicious Grounds!

by Tatianna Yougottalove

For a long time I was in a mood for steamed dumplings, and 🌹 rose shaped dumplings was an idea I wanted to try.
I liked it the best with mayo.
And at the end I just made fried pie with the leftover dough & grounds. 😋 yum!

This recipe is for the whole family, so if it’s too much, make sure to make half the quantity.

I made the filing first because there is no need for the dough to rise, you can start preparing straight away.

The ingredient’s you’ll need:
Grounds
Onions
Cilantro
All purpose flour

Filling
I’m a bowl:
2 packs vegan grounds, each is 340g
1½ cups diced onions
1 bunch of Cilantro, diced1 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
Mix all together very well

Dough
4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp salt
Mix the dry ingredients and then add water
3 cups of water
Mix and knead for a few minutes.
If it’s still sticky, sprinkle more flour and knead.

Cut the dough into ½ or even ¼, depending if you want to roll the dough into a big round circle or small ones.
I cut it in half.

Take a cookie cutter 3 inch in diameter or even a little bigger if you have.

Cut the rolled dough with your cookie cutter and place 3 circles at edges, press in between so the 3 circles hold tight.
Place ground filling across the 3 flat circle ⭕ dough and close from the top to the bottom, and press, one circle after another.
From the edge start rolling till the end and the last edge press tight under the rose, at the bottom.
Open the leaves at the top, and place on an oiled steamer plate or steamer basket for steaming.

Boil the water and steam for about 10-15 minutes,
I place it in a steamer plate of my rice cooker.
But maybe in the pot it’s different timing, some take more time for about 30-40 minutes, so I’m not sure, I haven’t tried it in a different dish.

Best to watch the video for a detailed process! 😉😊

With the leftover dough & grounds, I made pie and fried it.

Flatten the dough and place all the remaining filling around the entire dough, and close around the circle as you can see in the video.

If you have a big pan, I suggest you do this process in it, because it will be hard to take it from your work surface into a pan, LoL, I had the pleasure of this little problem.
Close with a lid if you have a big one, and fry on medium for about 15-20 minutes.

Enjoy with mayo or coconut yogourt 😋
