SWEET CIGARS PASTRIES, SWEET AND DELICIOUS!

by Tatianna Yougottalove

Amazing recipe for the whole family or for your guests.

This Sweet Cigars dessert is one of my favourites.
We all enjoyed eating it tremendously.

I got obsessed with this dessert years ago, but since going vegan 7 years ago I thought I was done with it. I’ll never have it again because the original recipe contains dairy products.

But as time passes there are sooooo many options for vegan substitute products for us to enjoy without guilt and so much healthier too.
I just love that I can veganize so many of the recipes that I had the memory of when I was young.

As you can see in the video you can make it into a few types of shapes, all depends on the size of your triangle.

The ingredients you’ll need:
Vegan butter
Vegan yogourt
Baking powder
Cane sugar
All purpose flour
Walnuts
Vanilla extract
Agave nectar

Dough:
3 tbsp vegan butter
3 tbsp vegan yogourt
1 tsp baking powder
⅓ cup cane sugar
⅔ cup water
+/- 3 cups all purpose flour, start with ½ cup

Place all the ingredients, besides flour, mix all together and then add flour on top.
Mix till combined, knead until formed into nice shape.
Set aside and start making the filing.

Filling:
2 cups grated walnuts
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp cane sugar or maple syrup
2 tbsp agave nectar

I used my handy greater for walnuts, but you can use a blender such as a Ninja, you want to make sure it’s a little bit chunky, and not sandy.
When ready add everything into a bowl and mix well till gooey & sticky.

You have a few options with dough.
You can cut in half as I did.
Or you can cut into ⅓ or ¼.
It’s really all up to you, don’t be afraid to play with the sizes of your cigars.

Each piece of the dough flatten into a circle, cut into triangles pizza like slices, and place around 1 tbsp of filling or less (depends on the size of your triangle) at the wide size and roll it until the end.

Place in a baking pan.
Preheat your oven at 350 and bake for around 15 to 20 minutes.
You can make them crunchy or in between.
Either way it’s delicious, and you’ll get addicted very fast.
