7 Days Juice Fast!

Everyone has their own reason to fast or go for a cleanse. A fasting period not only has a cleansing effect on our body but also our mind. For me, there are many reasons, but one of the main reasons I decided to go fasting is meditation! When I’m eating less cooked and more live food, or when I am fasting, my mind is clearer and my body is in a calm state. The body has no food to digest while the mind stays separated from the thoughts of what to cook or what to eat for the next meals.

Meditation
If you meditate, you know how rewarding it can be, and if you are into astral projection you also know how divine and exhilarating the experience is. The goal is to find the inner joy, love and there is a whole world inside of us that most of us don’t even know exists.

Skin
When fasting I realized that my skin has a shine to it and it is very clear and naturally smooth.

Hair
After fasting my hair doesn’t fall out, it get stronger and healthier. When I comb my hair, I barely have any hair breakages on my comb.

Headaches
A few years ago, I had very painful headaches for about a month or two, and I didn’t know what to do. I don’t like medicine, so I ignored and lived with it. It was very hard to function while home-schooling 3 boys and cooking fresh food every day. Once I decided to do a 30 day juice fast, and 3 months of fully raw diet. After that, I don’t have any more headaches, and I’m very thankful for that. As mothers, we are very active and we need our strength & energy, it’s a full-time job.

Weight loss:
After 3 boys, 2 years apart, every mother wants to go back to her original weight. After my first and second child, I succeeded losing weight and went back to my original weight, which was 55 kg. But after my youngest, Daniel, it was very hard. I was 70 kg for a long time.

Not only do I get to drink and eat live foods, vibrating and nutritional fruits, I’m also losing weight very fast, in one week I lost between 4-5k.

Food Cravings
I don’t have cravings like I used to have. I was very addicted to sweets, to the point where I’d literally start crying because I needed my fix. Now, I have it less if not at all.

Teeth & Gums
It gives your mouth a break, and time to get better and stronger.

If after flossing & brushing your teeth, your gums are bleeding, after a while it will stop and your gums will get better and stronger. If you had any pain, with time it also will go away. Just make sure you are doing your best to eat more raw food and less junk food.

My inspiration came from Jonny juicer a few years ago, and instead of taking small steps I just jump into a 30 day juice fast, LoL.  When Richard saw that I was doing it for a few days in a row, he understood I was serious, so he joined me on this journey for the rest of the 30 days.

If you ever decide to go on a juice fast, I’d recommend for you to always go with your intuition.

No one knows your body better than you do, and no one knows your mind and your strength as you do. In the beginning, it was easy, but with time it got a little be harder, but we did it and we got so much from it. For me the first 2 weeks were easy, and then the rest of the time it got a little bit harder, I don’t have any regrets, I got powerful with my mind and body.

This time I decided to do it for 7 days, every day with only one kind of fruit juice. And the following 7 days, to eat only fruits.

Here is my daily routine:

In the morning you can drink water with lemon and soaked dates to make it a bit sweeter. From my experience when I drink water with lemon on an empty stomach it gets a little bit harder with time because of the acid. So, you can make your water a day before so the dates will soak well and then strain it the next day. I also suggest drinking lots of juice, between 2L to 3L. Why is that? Because it gives energy and motivation to go on with your day, it gives you the strength to do what needs to be done, if its work, exercise, and so on.

If you stay at home like me and you are unschooling your kids, you’re definitely going to need lots of energy.

I notice when I don’t drink enough, I get the urge to rest, and my energy goes down. On this week of juice fast, I was going for a walk almost every day, when it wasn’t raining. I was working in the kitchen for hours. I was working on my recipes, I was practising my meditation, and between all that I took my time to rest when I wanted to.

If you notice, I didn’t make grape juice, even though it’s sweet and great to juice it. The reason is, from my experience it’s extremely sweet. In the past when we made grape juice it was almost impossible for us to drink, even our boys who love sweet, couldn’t drink it, they said it’s too sweet, LoL. But if you would like to make it, I’ll suggest to make half jar grape juice and the other half water.

My husband, Richard still continued with running, exercising and going into the sauna while fasting, crazy right?

But he did it, he had the energy and he also enjoyed doing it. Not me, I only was active at home and going for a walk, it’s our thing to do every day.

I wanted to share my experience with you and would love to help if you want to go for fasting. It is also advisable to check with your medical/ health practitioner first before you decide to do a fast.

Watermelon is a fruit, it’s a vine-like flowering plant.
It’s sweet and delicious in taste and very refreshing.
It’s a great & refreshing snack in summer.
There are many benefits of eating watermelon, such as:
Helps you hydrate and feel full.
Low in calories and high in nutrients.
It contain Vitamins A & C that are good for your skin and hair.
It contains lots of water and a small amount of fibre and can improve digestion.

Raw apple juice is refreshing, sweet and contains so much nutrition.
And the best part about it when I make it, my boys can enjoy it too!
It’s great to have it during a fast because it’s one of the fruits that are full of natural sugar, it gives you energy and boosts your immune system.

Apples are a good source of fibre and vitamin C. They also contain polyphenols, which may have numerous health benefits.
The most important thing with this simple juice, are the type of apples!
Make sure you choose juicy and sweet ones. Not only for the taste but also for juicing.
It is good to choose low acidic & sweet apples like Ambrosia, Juliet, Royal gala and Fuji.
When the apples aren’t ripe and juicy, it’s hard to juice, you’ll get more pulp and less juice, and the machine can get stuck often.
Make sure to keep the pulp for baking cookies, cakes, bread .
If you have a big quantity of pulp, you can freeze it for your next inspired baking recipe.

Honeydew is fat-free and cholesterol free fruit. On my third day of fasting – I decided to add Honeydew to the list.
Honeydew is a member of the C. melon species. It is a great source for many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Beyond the nutritional benefits, honeydew may also be used to manage and prevent conditions like dehydration, promotes heart health, protects vision and promotes skin repair.

Honeydew is sweet in taste and has a firm and green flesh. After the melon is cut, store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container and consume within 4 days.

Easy to juice, and very refreshing for summer!

It is Day 4 and I added Grapefruit to my diet. Grapefruit is a tropical citrus fruit known for its sweet and somewhat sour taste. Grapefruit has a high-water content which helps you stay hydrated. It’s rich in nutrients, antioxidants, and fibre, making it one of the healthiest citrus fruits you can eat.

It is Low in calories and has been shown to aid weight loss. It is high in nutrients and packed with powerful antioxidants.

It is Day 5 and I feel that my body has adapted to the fasting routine. There are times it gets a bit challenging but over time the mind gets stronger. Today I decided to introduce Pineapple Juice.

Pineapple Juice can offer incredible benefits for Beauty and Health.

In some cultures, the fruit is also used as a traditional folk remedy to treat or prevent certain ailments.

It is known to have benefits like improved digestion and heart health, reduced inflammation, and perhaps even some protection against cancer.

Two more days to go for the 7 Day Mono fruit juice fasting and I am already feeling the positive change in my mind and body.

It is Day 6 and I can tell you that a glass of Orange Juice is so refreshing and an instant mood booster – Even glad that I will be having only this for the entire day.

Orange juice has some great health benefits. It not only builds immunity but also helps in the production of collagen to improve the health of the skin and balances the hormones.

Drinking freshly squeezed orange juice right away ensures that your body receives all of that lovely Vitamin C.

It is the last day of the 7-day mono fruit juice fasting and I am glad I added Cantaloupe Juice. This melon may not get as much respect as other fruits, but it should. This Cantaloupe is extremely tasty and packed with nutrients.

Like most fruits, it has a high-water content and it helps you stay hydrated throughout the day. Good hydration is linked to healthy kidneys, digestion, and improved blood pressure.

Adding this fruit to your diet can not only make your days better but also noticeably healthier. It even contains an element called beta-carotene. Beta-carotene, when absorbed by our stomach, becomes vitamin A and they have an antioxidant effect to help strengthen the immune system against infection.

I loved this 7-day fasting journey so I decided to go on a juice fast for 7 days every 3 weeks.
