Not-Beef Rice Pilaf

by Tatianna Yougottalove

With 4 ingredients and a few spices, here is a very tasty and filling rice dish you can enjoy as it is or with fresh salad.
In my culture, my family used to make a few types of rice with ground beef.
Since going vegan, 7-8 years ago and vegetarian since I was 15, I stopped eating this type of dish.
So when vegan grounds/mince came out I started to prepare it and my men went crazy for this dish.

In a pot:
1 large red onion, diced
6 garlic cloves, sliced or diced
1 pack vegan grounds or mince
2½ cups basamati rice
1 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 vegetable bouillon cube
3 cups water
Fry the first 3 ingredients to your liking, or until slightly brown.
Then add washed and strained rice.
Spices and water.
Mix and cover with lid.
Bring to boil then reduce the heat and cook on low for about 20-30 minutes.
